November is a month for saying thank you. This year, Tennessee made it official. The Tennessee General Assembly passed Senate Joint Resolution 1051, recognizing November 2026 as Veterans Month, and Governor Bill Lee signed it on May 11, 2026. As the resolution puts it, a single day of observance is not enough to express our gratitude to the men and women who have served. You can read the Tennessee Department of Veterans Services announcement here.
At Bluff City Electrical Contractors, we couldn't agree more.
A Veteran-Owned Company That Hires Veterans
Bluff City Electrical Contractors, LLC is an SBA VetCert certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). We're veteran-owned and veteran-led, and we know firsthand what veterans bring to a jobsite: discipline, teamwork, mission focus and a habit of doing things right the first time.
Those same qualities are what make a great electrician. That's why we're proud to support Tennessee's veterans with something that lasts longer than a month of thanks: real careers on some of the best projects in the region.
Some of the Best Projects in the Area
Our crews have worked on Ford BlueOval City, where we had more than 400 electrical professionals on site and recorded zero lost time incidents. Today our teams are supporting data center work for StarGate, Google, DataBank and 5C, and we've delivered work for clients like FedEx, Tesla, ADM and the University of Memphis.
As a union IBEW/NECA contractor working with IBEW Local 474 in Memphis and Local 175 in Chattanooga, we offer structured training, strong safety standards and room to grow, from apprentice to journeyman, foreman, project manager or estimator. We're also proud to support federal and government projects as a veteran-owned business.
Working Toward SkillBridge for Transitioning Service Members
We're also pleased to announce that Bluff City Electrical is working to become an industry partner in the SkillBridge program. SkillBridge lets active duty service members in their last 180 days of service train or intern with a civilian employer, with their commander's approval, while they continue to receive their military pay and benefits.
For service members getting ready to transition, it's a chance to learn the trade, meet the crew and see the work before taking off the uniform. For us, it's a way to help great people move straight from service into full-time careers. We'll share an update once our application is complete.
Technical Backgrounds Welcome
We especially want to hear from service members and veterans in technical fields. That includes Navy Seabee construction electricians and Electrician's Mates, Army engineers in the 12-series such as interior electricians and prime power specialists, Air Force civil engineering electrical airmen, Marine Corps electricians, and electronics and avionics technicians from every branch. If you've worked on power, wiring, generators or electronics in uniform, your experience matters here.
Ready for Your Next Mission?
If you're a veteran, a transitioning service member, a Guard or Reserve member, or a military spouse, we'd like to meet you. Visit our Join Our Team page or go straight to our online application, where you can tell us about your service.
To every Tennessean who has served, and to your families: thank you. We're proud to work alongside you.
